How to play Light Up
Fireflies turns the light up puzzle into a night garden: fireflies light their row and column, and flowers count the fireflies beside them.
- Set fireflies down until every grass square is lit.
- A firefly lights its own row and column until a flower or bush stops it.
- No firefly may sit in another firefly’s light.
- A flower with a number has exactly that many fireflies on its four sides.
Step by step
- 1 A firefly lights its whole row and column.
- 2 Bushes and flowers stop the light.
- 3 No two fireflies in each other’s light.
- 4 A flower grows a petal for each firefly beside it. Its number is how many it wants. One too many and it wilts.
- 5 In No firefly mode, tap or drag to put a dot on squares that hold none. Long-press or right-click does the other mode’s move.
- 6 Hint: tap for where, tap again for why.Hint
What you see
A firefly.
Red: in another firefly’s light.
Lit square.
Dark square.
Dot: no firefly here.
In bloom: the flower has its fireflies.
Wilted: too many fireflies beside it.
A bush: no number.
Solving tips
- Start with 0 flowers and 4 flowers: a 0 rules out all four sides, a 4 fills them.
- Look for a dark square that only one square can still light. The firefly must go there.
- Mark squares that cannot hold a firefly with a dot, so the open choices stand out.
